Seoul, Korea, May 5, 2025 — Global leading tire company Hankook Tire & Technology (Hankook Tire) once again showcased the outstanding performance of its GEN3 Evo iON Race tire under the demanding conditions of the 2025 Monaco E-Prix double-header, part of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship (hereafter Formula E).
Held on May 3 and 4, the historic race weekend marked Rounds 6 and 7 of Season 11, unfolding on the iconic Circuit de Monaco against the glamorous backdrop of Monte Carlo and La Condamine.
Oliver Rowland from Nissan Formula E Team and Sébastien Buemi from Envision Racing Formula E Team delivered a masterclass in control, taking the top step of the podium in Rounds 6 and 7, respectively. Oliver Rowland has surged ahead in the drivers’ championship with 115 points, while TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team leads in the teams’ championship with the Porsche powertrain.
As the world’s most demanding street circuit came alive, 22 of the world’s top drivers battled it out on the twisting, narrow streets of the Principality. Iconic features of the track – including the tight Grand Hotel Hairpin, the harbourfront chicane, and a series of unforgiving corners –tested the limits of both drivers and machinery. Through every twist and turn, Hankook’s GEN3 Evo iON Race tire maintained optimal grip, precise handling, and reliable thermal management, even under the extreme stress unique to this circuit.
The intense double-header format added an extra layer of complexity, making tire strategy, energy management, and on-the-spot decision-making more critical than ever. Once again, the GEN3 Evo iON Race tire played a key role in delivering competitive advantage and enabling bold overtakes at crucial moments.
With the Monaco E-Prix completed, Formula E is set to continue in Tokyo, where Formula E returns to Japan for Rounds 8 and 9 — the next double-header set for May 17 and 18. Following a sensational debut in 2024, the Tokyo E-Prix returns with two consecutive days of racing action. The 2.582km street circuit surrounding Tokyo Big Sight will present a unique blend of sweeping straights and 18 corners, raising the intensity and strategic complexity of the championship.
